GM’s SPS Service Programming Systems
- GM’s Service Programming System merges your Tech 2 Flash, a required PC*,
and GM’s SPS CD-ROM, and lets you reprogram controllers on ’93 and newer
GM/ reprogrammable controllers.
- With your PC and the Tech 2 Flash, you will be on the receiving end of software
subscription updates via CD-ROM disks.
- Now! Different service programming system products are available so you can
choose the solution that makes the most sense for your business
- IMPORTANT:
To re-flash GM vehicles you will need the TIS / SPS annual subscription from
AC-Delco and the MDI Cable. These two items are not included with this
purchase. The MDI Cable with a one year TIS / SPS subscription is available
under part number OTC3846.
- IMPORTANT:
This product is sold with the CANdi Module. This means you can
flash both CAN (Controller Area Network) and non-CAN vehicles. All GM
vehicles from 2008 onward are CAN compliant and require the included CANdi
module for re-flashing.
- IMPORTANT:
This tool cannot be used to modify calibrations for racing or other
purposes. It is intended to flash the ECU with factory original calibrations
supplied by GM.

CANdi Module for Tech 2 Flash!
An industry change in protocol from OBD II to Controller Area Network (CAN) has begun. In order to perform diagnostics on a vehicle that uses the CAN interface, you will need the Tech 2 Flash and a CAN diagnostic interface module.
The CANdi module connects between the Tech 2 Flash’s Diagnostic Link Cable
and the OBD adapter. Once the CANdi module is connected, it can be used on
all GM vehicle applications, even those vehicles using other platforms such as
OBD I and II. As of this printing, the following GM vehicles
utilize the CAN interface:
- 2003 Saturn ION
- 2004 Buick Rendezvous (3.6L)
- 2004 Cadillac SRX
- 2004 Cadillac XLR 2004 Cadillac CTS (3.6L)
- 2004 Chevy Malibu (Body/chassis only)
- Other GM vehicles may also adopt the CAN protocol in the future.
