• The GM MDI Unit is a compact communication cable / module that manages the transfer of data between a vehicle’s onboard ECU and a PC. 
   
• Here's how it works:  A desired GM calibration is downloaded to your PC from the AC-Delco website utilizing the TIS/SPS annual subscription (not included). The GM Tech-2 Software (not included) loaded on your PC manages the transfer of the calibration to the vehicle's ECU.  After the MDI cable is connected between the PC and the OBD2 connector, the calibration is downloaded from the PC to the vehicle's ECU through the MDI cable. 
  
• The GM MDI Unit has an easy to grip, comfortable, rugged enclosure.
  
• Using the GM MDI Unit for programming frees up your Tech 2 for diagnostics.
  
• User can perform Data transfer and Electronic Control Unit (ECU) reprogramming.
  
• The GM MDI Unit has shop network communications (LAN and WLAN) capabilities.
