The purpose of the PASS Book - Import Volume II, is to guide the technician to an understanding of the communications between the computer and the transmission. Testing and diagnosing requires some working knowledge of this communication. Therefore, in this manual, we will attempt to simply identify and explain the inputs and outputs of the import computer. Special attention is given to testing transmission solenoids, RPM sensors, and TPS switches. Many import transmission controls can be checked using scanners and transmission testers. This book identifies which transmission can be diagnosed with the help of such devices. Also a list of transmission computer trouble codes can be found at the end of each unit.
